Glenn Hayden

Theatre/Stage director

Glenn has had a 37+ year professional life in the performing arts. A 1986 graduate from the prestigious WA Academy of Performing Arts / Edith Cowan University, he initially worked full time as an actor. By 1996, he had given up acting to focus fully on directing and arts leadership and management.
An international award-winning and respected arts leader, Glenn has directed over 60 professional projects and productions commissioned 20+ theatre plays, established several arts organizations including the renowned Blueroom Theatre in Perth WA, was Artistic Director on 3 major arts festivals and Associate Artist with some of Australia’s most innovative companies. From 2004 to 2014 he was Artistic Director and CEO of Urban Myth Theatre Company in South Australia – the company that gave reason to first come to India.
Glenn has also had extensive experience in Community Cultural Development utilising theatre as the tool to work with communities; Including youth, youth at risk, disabilities, aged care, reform, detention and maximum security communities, women's and men’s groups, refugee, survivors of trauma & toture.
Glenn is passionate about the sustainability of the artist and the discipline of the arts. For the past five years, he has been in India to work alongside an incredible array of artists and arts organizations to research and forge what has now become Chakravyu Performing Arts. Also, an accomplished Acting trainer and Corporate Theatre trainer, Glenn’s skills and experience are a valuable addition to CPA. www.chakravyuperformingarts.in
